Lastime i played Super Mario Cart was on the SNES. Cheesey 16 bit but the gameplay was a scream when you'd learned the tracks/weapons etc, EVIL in 2 player mode!!! :D
Mario Kart Wii is very similar, but adds online play, and far more tracks etc.  Similar vein though.

i recorded most of the voice over parts for the wii fit games , in 7 different languages.........  
i never want to see or hear it again....

ARGGHHHH    the only words in umpteen different languages that stay the same are the names...    no matter where in the world you are... pikachu is still bloody pikachu.
