I thought you just locked the tensioner with an Allen key, put the belt on then released the tensioner?  :-\

We are getting warmer.  :y

When the belts on you turn tensioner with the (8mm) Allen so the pointer lines up with the marker. Then tighten tensioner nut.

But as said its before this to get the belt on.

But as you are getting warmer it's something to do with the tensioner  :y
you must seen this video then

Well it certainly doesn't need to be any easier than that.

Ok, enoughs enough  ::) ;D

There is a lug on the back of the tensioner that slots in to a cut out in the block. If you locate the tensioner on this lug as you're "supposed to" the belt is tight to get on. The trick is to put the tensioner on its stud half way but don't fit that lug and have it to the side. This leaves you with enough slack to swing a cat. Once the belts on just push that lug round til it pops in to its cut out. Tension belt with Allen key, tighten tensioner bolt and you're done.

Thread the belt before fitting the tensioner.

Do I get any points?  ;D

No mate.  Prob should have explained better....

So old crank n cam locked off. New water pump fitted. New guide pulley fitted. New tensioner on its stud. There's something to do just before you put the new belt on that makes it easy to literally slap the belt on.

Note tat without doing this thing the belt will be stupidly tight to get

The new tensioner should come with a pin installled,leave the pin in and use allen key on the tensioner to back it up all the way,the pin lets you wind it back even further :y
