It was just a standard enquiry at Drive Vauxhall  (Patchway,  if that makes a difference).  I hope I get the right thing!

Ok, clearly my local Vauxhall dealer are over charging. What dealers are you talking to to get these low (relatively) prices? Bear in mind these are the prices for me ordering through my garage where I work! So they should be the same as on TC if applicable
No, a garage will get Trade.  Trade Club is cheaper for Trade Club items.

(not that I think cam covers are a TC item, never used to be)

Ok, just noticed you have a 2.2  ::) my bad.

Called Vauxhall this morning and they confirmed for the PAIR of V6 cam covers.....£324 + vat. That's the best they can do. So I imagine retail would be well over that.

Yeah sorry I meant trade. But as you say if they're not available on TC then my price should be a lot cheaper than the 160 quoted.

Though as I write this it looks like his is for a 2.2 so therefore mystery solved  :y

2.6.

Thanks for the responses.

I am nervous of used ones, because my mechanic might be unconvinced. New ones at 160 sounds good ...

I wasn't going to go down the vectra covers option.

Ok. I see you actually DO need v6 ones. Sorry busy morning  ::)

The Vx bloke said £135 + vat for ONE cover. Therefore your quote of £160 looks like he only priced up one inc. vat.

I suspect my price is wrong.  Maybe for the gasket only.
I did double-check this, but it's the usual story. Will need to see on Monday...
Thanks for the responses.

There are genuine brand new genuine GM 2.6 / 3.2 cam covers on Ebay in the US at just over £53, with delivery of approx £14. If you bought both sides, combining postage, it would probably cost a total of about £125 / £130. Seems like a bargain to me worthy of a punt.....
But, can I hear the EBay sceptics beginning to rant???... :D

Having trouble finding these.  Could you give the search terms for these?  Sounds good.
Thanks.

If you search under the part numbers GM 55351452 (o/s) and GM 55351453 (n/s) it will bring up some used in the UK ,and several USA sellers (presumably aimed at Cadillac owners).
The one I saw was the n/s, item no 152458150317
I've looked at listings for the o/side, and they show the same parts diagram for both sides(?), probably as a result of lazy listing practices of listing similar items.
I know it's just basics, but I'd just take into account price compared with the listed postage costs AND their feedback rating, but personally I'd also email them to specify which side you are buying from them, if you don't get both from the same seller.

I actually sourced mine through my local Vauxhall dealer here in the UK!
Maybe they were 'out of date stock', i.e. ones that had been gathering dust 'on the shelf' for a while. Still sealed in their packaging, so it would have been very rude of me to say no - especially as I now know what other dealers are asking......

I got my pair of rocker covers, £103 a side.  Guess there's some different prices around.
Haven't got the repair done yet.
Thanks for the other options suggested.

Ok and these were purchased from the Patchway Vauxhall you mentioned earlier? And came with the gaskets? And we're correct for the v6?

Want to know cos if I can save well over a hundred notes I will  :y

Yes, it's the part numbers stated above.   Each one is one item with the O rings and gaskets in place.
I bought sealant as well.
