What scratches/Scuffs?
« on: 05 August 2008, 10:49:36 »

In the ad for my new Meega, the seller states there are some minor scratches and scuffs around the vehicle, and the alloys look scruffy.

Can you spot any evidence of this in the pics?

I can't - alloys look mint, as does the paintwork  :-?

no, but it is possible to take pics in such a way that hides or masks the scratches or marks....

Personally if it was scratches i would get the polishing kit out and start work on it, you will be amazed what can be achieved with a couple of hours elbow grease, just a shame we dont have the weather  >:(
if it was small dents i would get dent devils on the case

The wheels are slightly different, if they are scuffed then they will need to be repainted.

For a couple of hundred quid it is possible to turn a nice car into a total minter, i did it with the Alfa, that really was a nice car when i sold it

Hard to see from pics - guess the seller is covering his rse by being totally honest.  Would not expect perfection anyway on a second hand car.

Sure any imperfections will be minor :)

front bumper, passenger side, fairly big scuff right on the corner.

Might have lots of tiny little ones here and there, very poor small images, hard to tell.

Yep, I saw that one :y

Is there any way to repair a scuffed bumper, or is it just a case of replace it?

I recall your old Facelift Elite had some bumper + alloy scuffs, but it still didn't look too bad!!

Comes up ok if you polish it.

My current facelift has some big scratches on the front bumper, trying to get around the new estate on the drive. Mother tunnie needs realise her new estate is a tad bigger than her old car  >:(

nope..

to see them pictures must be taken very close  depending on  light direction..

But as a general rule scratches less than the thickness of lack or laquer
(thickness depends on the age of paint ) can be sanded and polished successfully.. :)
