Demist winter
« on: 13 June 2017, 01:26:43 »

Observing some of the comments on this forum, mine mists up terribly in the winter. If the climate isn't working, as it is not one mine, for demist. Is this a common problem with the Omega?

If by climate not working, you mean the aircon... then yes, it will mist up terribly.

Keeping the windscreen impeccably clean on the inside will help.

check the vents in the boot are clear - drivers side bottom of first aid box cubby hole

wipe the screen with a mild detergent solution or buy the same thing - anti mist screen wipes.

fix your air con

spoke today to an aircon specialist. they told me that not having working aircon shouldnt cause any issues and the car demist should behave just like any ordinary car that doesnt have aircon.is ther any peculiarities in the omega system that causes the misting up ? just curious

Yup, shit, lazy design... ie poor air distribution which relies heavily on working airconditioning to function acceptably ;)

Occasionally the recirculation flap on my car will get confused and stick in the recirc position.

When that happens the screen mists up in moments.  >:(

A wet / damp Pollen Filter doesn't help.

A wet / damp Pollen Filter doesn't help.

How do you check that? Where is it located?

2 min job, lift bonnet, NS on the scuttle panel, lift flap, pull out Pollen Filter.
