I couldn't afford the Paypal charges, let alone the £45,000 ::)

.. or the 2 miles to the gallon gallons to the mile.

Oil change on a spitfire is 14 gallons too, IIRC. :o

Would make an interesting Santa Pod project mounted in a Miggy Estate (was originally thinking of the engine in the rear of the estate (Size wise)).  Dont know about getting the power down though.

Might have to lengthen the engine bay to put the engine up front and fill the boot full of sand instead to get the traction down.

Or move the drivers seat into the back seat postion so you couls sit behind the engine. ;D ;D ;D ;D :y :y :y :y

Let's hope that our great grandchildren remember the Merlin as one of the most important deciders of the way we live in the 21st century. If Germany had managed to keep air supremacy we would have been sunk.

It powered:
Spitfire
Hurricane
Mosquito
Lancaster
Bristol Beaufighter
Halifax
Wellington
Among others. Including the American Kittyhawk and Mustang.
(On a lot of these planes, the Merlin was fitted as an improvement over the original).

Respect  :y :y :y
