Still no LPG Tank
« on: 06 August 2008, 19:01:28 »

The 3rd or 4th "promised" delivery date has come and gone and there's still no sign of the LPG tank I ordered from Jeremy on June 23rd!!!

Do you guys think it's unreasonable for me to start throwing my toys out of the pram with him???? :question :question :question

I'm just getting a bit sick of waiting for something I was told was all ready for me to collect on 18th July!!! :o :o :o :o

I'll call him again tomorrow and see what he has to say this time but starting to lose patience now....... It's getting beyond a joke >:( >:( >:( >:(

You need to way up the pros and cons of toys out the pram versus sourcing parts elsewhere, may make economic sense to be nice :(

...is it paid for already? What reasons are given for the delay?

I would be asking for the money for the tank back plus some form of compensation for waiting in on 4 occasions and then buy the tank elsewhere.

I've had many excuses and am getting tired... I know he's the best source and I know the price is good but I'm just getting to the point that every time I ring I get another excuse!!!  >:( >:( >:(

It's all paid for and I was told before I went on holiday on the 8th July that it was on the shelf, packaged with my name! When I spoke to him last week it was going to be delivered on Friday, which came and went. When I called on Monday I was told "oh, I've got to send you an invoice for the balance" which has already been taken from my card 6 days before hand.

I know they've had some problems getting the stuff in to them but I'd rather a bit of honesty than numerous promised dates which come and go!!!  The worst thing is I've been getting my neighbour to keep an eye out for me and he's been staying home to sign for it :o :o :o :o

As for the courier.... That's why I'm venting here... Deliveries to me are notoriously poor and I know if I ring and leave a message now I'll blow my top, only to find that the courier couldn't be bothered to trek out to mine today  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Thanks guys  :y :y :y :y :y

P.S. Despite the problems I'd still recommend him as a source for the kit...... It's proven to work very well on Omegas and the support is good. Just don't make any arrangements for fitting until you've got the full kit in your greasy mitts!!! :y :y :y :y

Also bear in mind if Jemery is having problems getting the tanks, so maybe other suppliers......Maybe worth a call to few others to check price and if they have them in stock before you loose your temper at the bloke and ask for a refund... ;)

I know when i had my 2.2 converted, it was booked in for a week......ONE month later i got it back!! Installer just couldnt get the parts in....shortage of them apparently i was told at the time.

However as compensation.......they did raise the boot floor up with polystyrene and blank the exposed end off with a piece of wood, which was a job i was suppose to be doing.

I know I can get it off the shelf about 65 miles away, but it does work out slightly more expensive when you put everything in ::) ::) ::)

If it's down to supplier issues then I'm fine with that... My problem is the constant "promised" delivery dates that are just passing by!!! All it takes is a bit of honesty!!!

I'll see what he has to say tomorrow.

It is also August, when several countries in Europe practically shut down, and maybe this is affecting supply. That doesn't excuse being given a constant stream of broken promises though. >:(

Either he has a tank for you, in which case he must by now have sent it and have a tracking number so you can trace it, or he has been stringing you along.

I think part of the problem is that Jeremy doesn't actually ship the bits, so he makes a promise and then tells another guy to sort it. If it doesn't get done for some reason, he's none the wiser and he can't give you any answers, so he makes more more promises....

If I were considering converting now, excellent though Jeremy's kits have turned out to be on every Omega we have fitted one to, I would be looking elsewhere.  :-/

Good idea. Jeremy will only be chasing Teilo anyway, and he seems to be just as busy.

I mean as a forum too... At least we'll cut out the middle man and possibly even get a deal at the same time :y :y :y

Got an update today... Jeremy was impossible to contact and not responding to messages so I rang Teilo directly.... What a good move :y :y :y :y

It was all down to supplier issues. They have been saying it's getting dispatched when it isn't!!! They don't even have any in stock :o :o :o :o

Anyway... Teilo has been told that I have a 90L tank winging it's way to me overnight. He's going to send me the tracking number in the morning :y :y :y :y :y It's bigger than I wanted and going to be a bit of a fiddle to get fitted but.... It'll give me another 30-80 ish miles range  :y :y :y :y :y

Also, if any member wants a kit I have the details to communicate with Teilo directly and it'll cut out the middle man. The only thing is he wont be able to offer as much technical support by phone because he's so busy. That said, there's plenty of support/advice available here to cover most things  ;) ;) ;) ;)
