Had they done nothing, people would be crying out that the Government are stingy.

Personally, I think it is necessary to do 'something' to celebrate the NY.  In the whole scheme of things, it works out less than 25p per person in the U.K.  I recall last years efforts, and whilst it was quite a display, the European overtone stood out like a sore thumb. 

I do wonder who gets to choose the theme/music/colours etc, as all of these celebrations seems to be Anti U.K.

Is it me or what? Since coming back from over there to back here after 9 months, I have noticed that all/most adverts on tv involve black people on a big scale since I left in March. News readers and reporters the same! What is going on? It seems to me that the longer this goes on the more difficult it will be to stop it.

All of this passes us by in Barnsley. We never actually joined the EU in the first place, you won't find any of that foreign muck being eaten here, and we don't even know what IKEA is. I see a person of colour now and again, but very unusual. The village I live was shown in white on the covid map last week (so few cases that numbers are not released for fear of identifying people).


So keep the noise down, please

Everything from your pension, to the food you feed your dog...... the EU has had a say in and has altered. 

Barnsley folk might not think they have much to do with the rest of the world (cheers for that) but the reality is, you are no different to someone living in 'that there London'.
