Couldn't afford a whole pack of 10 or 20 as an eleven year old. Not a problem though, as the the newsagent was more than willing to sell us kids 'single ciggies' at a criminal price.

Yep.I used to get my daily single No. 6 and book of matches from the shop opposite school when I was 13. As did hundreds of other boys.

Weights or Woodbines in my school days. Does anyone rember the long ones called Joysticks? Right old cancer sticks.

No....but we did experiment with Capstan full strength. It didn't end well.

My Granny used to send me to the wee shop round the corner for 5 Woodbines when I was 7 years old. Old witch didnt even give me a penny to get four Blackjacks for myself. 
This would have been when she was short of money because her old man had drunk it all. She normally smoked at least 60 Gallaghers Greens a day. Needless to say, she never saw 70.
Having said that, never did my Mum and she never smoked or drunk alcohol in her life.

Tried a cigarette once didn't like it & a cigar made me sick so put my trust in alcohol..😃
