Not a new tactic either. The mafia used it, South American drug trade and here in Spain use it now.

What were we doing anyway? It was always going to end like this, all it took was someone with enough sense to start the process.

No way of knowing, but long term, this will be messier.

They are still in South Korea after 70 years. Stayed in Germany decades after WW2 to keep an eye on them.
Why not have a presence in Afghanistan to support, train and provide air cover if needed for the local forces, until such time as the Taliban were completely dissolved, and wouldnt provide cover to Islamist terror or flood the western world with cheap Heroin ?
He thought it would be a surefire vote winner in the mid terms, but the utterly cack handed way it has been handled meant it has blown up in his face, and unfortunately literally blown up in the faces of a lot of people, including his own soldiers.
The worst excuse for a POTUS I have ever seen, and thats saying something.

And apparently the world thought Trump was a liability !

^^^ this^^^^.  Of course it was always going to go this way if you pull out without a decent plan.
I hope that bloke goes one way or the other very soon before something really bad happens he is certainly not fit to be there, he can’t find the hole in his arse with both hands.

If Trumpy had presided over this sort of shitshow, the social media sites would have looked very different over the last couple of weeks.  ::)

But he didn't, because the American people showed him the door  ;D
I watched Biden's press conference last night and wondered how many of the words he used Donald would have understood  ::)

Rory Stewart said something similar in his documentary about Afghanistan. It was never going to end well.
