I watched the ITN news tonight and was initially shocked and then angry at the almost panic stricken imminent armageddon that was being prophesied from the studio and all at the cop venue .
It was reminiscent of the Cuban Missile Crisis where , as children , we went to bed fearing that death and destruction could visit us overnight .
It was not a news report , it was a horrid and painful death within a week , or else ....statement .
The hyperbole was almost orgasmic , especially from Robert Peston .
The report then went onto confirm that the sticking points of the final agreement were down to money and how much the poor countries can screw the rich initially and then long term.

I'm sick of the whole 'kin lot of them .
Farage is right we need a referendum on this .

And it is yet to be scientifically proven that climate change is even man made (though its quite likely that human activity has had some impact), yet its fed to us by our media as fact.

Its not that many centuries ago that Greenland was, errr, green.  Clearly dark ages eskimos used their Range Rovers too much.  Its not that many millennia ago that the ice sheets retreated, and sea levels rose dramatically - those nasty neanderthals and their V8 motors.  And not that many million years ago when sea levels rose due to temperature rises, but I don't recall the BBC complaining about what the dinosaurs were doing to the planet....

...but eat a nice bit of steak in front of anyone now, and you're the most evil person alive.

If that's true, then whole world is truly oppsed.

We might as well have an international ceremony where everyone who has a nuclear button presses it simultaneously and proves that global warming/climate change/the latest manipulative buzzword can be man-made

Besides we never get to hear about the undersea eruptions which are continually taking place bearing in mind 71% of our planet is covered in water. We are contributing to climate change there’s no doubt, but we are like a small fart compared to what the planet is doing naturally.

And the biggest global consumer of electricity is bit barns.  But I bet the middle aged, middle class people who shout the loudest still want their online services and social media cancer.

Ahh after some reading I appear to be wrong.  https://unric.org/en/even-volcanos-do-not-surpass-the-human-contribution-to-co2-emissions/
Who paid for the report?

With no CO² all the plants die. Then where would we be?

Setting aside the argument of whether climate change is real or not, and assuming it is then:

It is a no brainer that rich ( polluting ) countries pay the poor ( no polluting ) countries.  The devil is in the detail. For example paying India when they are “wasting” money on a space programme. A country like Gabon with a net zero carbon economy only has trees to cut down and possibly tourism to better itself ( a goal of most countries). So why not pay them not to chop down their trees. We only have one earth.

There is a certain irony in the richest one per cent on the planet create 16% of the problem and yet will pay very little for the privilege. No the people that will pay are your average tax payers. A good question to ask might be are these hobby space flights for the uber rich taxed heavily.

It is all very depressing when you see the bad stuff being done to the planet and its life. Bit like people that fly tip or don’t recycle diligently yet valet their car to perfection.

Nothing lasts forever , we should realise that by now , personally I think it's far too late to put " destruction" into reverse but at least the world leaders & politicians make a good living out of it & get to travel the world whilst telling us peasants to watch our step.

Yes we must do as we’re told☹️ I wonder why these people involved in all this don’t show an example themselves.

Because the measures they are talking about are impossible to implement, Rae. We all know they'll never get the infrastructure in place to charge all of the cars they'd like to see on our roads. We all know that air source heat pumps are an expensive joke. We all know that you could switch the UK off tomorrow and it wouldn't make a jot of difference to the global CO2 output.
They know they have to say something, but they also know it's a hopeless situation. They can hardly all get together and, at the end of two weeks, say "We haven't got a fûckin clue, we're doomed", so the put out the type of shit we're hearing now.

We're not doomed, btw, just quite a few Asian and African countries for now. We should be concentrating on how we keep the fickers out when the water gets up to their neck and they're looking for somewhere to live. Then we also will be doomed.

Vlad or Xi may sort the world out long before we have a chance to roast, anyway. Have a nice cup of tea and work out how you're gonna die without leaving any money in the bank.

Actually, the likes of Amazon are directly to blame by encouraging almost the entire globe to buy cheap Chinesey tat with same day delivery. Because apparently that's what we want.  :-X
