It wasn't so very long ago there was talk of all 'renewables' accounting for only 2-3% of energy needs.

Windmills were generating 42% of our electricity needs this morning, far higher than at any other time. We need a storm Eunice every day.

Even the high wind was too much for one of the windmills / wind turbines a couple of days ago....

We lost one in Grimethorpe about a year ago. It didn't come down, one of the sails snapped and cut a big scar into the tower. SSE have taken it all down except for the base, don't know if they'll bother putting it up again.
The damaged sail was left hanging on by that fibreglass looking stuff, whatever it is.

I had a couple of plant pots blown over...   

Although it was pretty windy here and the sea was rough, I don't think Storm Eunice lived up to the billing to be honest. 

Seen far far worse.

Lost one panel and a post. The post was already rotten and supported by said panel... which itself was cosmetic as it covered the back of a wall in next doors garden. Both can wait, as have a couple more panels/posts to attend to on the list for warmer weather.

And at least now, I can actually get a fence post in the car without a saw

One of my concrete posts has snapped at ground level, it's been up about ten years. The reinforcement rods inside the post are bent at an angle so the arris rails both sides of the post have come out of their slots. The arris rails either side go in at a very slight angle to follow the curve of the drive so I'll double post it when I repair it.

Ah yes climate change.  Seen that mentioned a few times today! 

It'll be a surprise to some, especially the metropolitan lentil munching yoghurt knitting millennial types, but winter gales really aren't that uncommon particularly if you live in the West of the country.

Our Waitrose delivery driver bottled it today due to the strong breeze, so I went and collected the shopping instead.
It cost me about £6 in petrol but they refunded me £15 and gave me a nice bunch of flowers for swmbo for my trouble.
Made my day.
