Yep.  :)

You've now established that you are willing to buy a new sofa, so it's only a matter of time.  :y
She'll do as she's told, good old fashioned relationship here  :)

That's what you think.  :)

Before long you'll be settling down on your new sofa, wondering how TF did this happen!  :P  ;D
I said I was happy to buy the fickin thing, didn't I? Just not having the local pikey turning up in a flatbed with a rain sodden sofa on the back. I have standards to maintain, don't you know?  ;D

In that case, you'd best get yourself down to DFS pronto then!  :y

Chop chop!!  ;D

That's after you've moved a pile of massive cushions and the cat.

That moves project We Need A New Sofa into the next stage:

He's already proved he'll spend some money on one

Which means:

He can be persuaded to spend more money on one

Which means:

I can now look at £3000 sofas with a clear conscience - which isn't necessary, but it is nice to have.

Which means:

Yay, lots of lovely shopping opportunities :-*  And he hates those, so he'll probably stretch to spending £4k

Which means:

It's only a few days until Saturday!!!

You are so screwed ;D

She has a cooling off period. Lads two year late graduation on Thursday, and off for a week away on Saturday, so she may have forgotten about it when we get back. You think? Maybe?  :-X

How many furniture shops do you think are on the way? How many more are there on the alternative way back? Ask her, she already knows....

No delivery..... :-X

We had a new 3 piece arrive a few months ago only it wasn't the one we ordered. It was a slightly different style and a slightly different colour. Close enough for me not to care.

Anyway, Mrs Opti wasn't happy so I contacted them to arrange for collection.

Two weeks they said.

Fine I said, I'll leave it outside in the rain. Pick it up when you are ready.

I'll have a word with the manager she said, but you'll be responsible for any damage.

I won't. You sent the wrong item.

Hold on while I speak to the manager.

Five minutes later she ruturns .......20% discount if you keep it.

My wife doesn't like the colour but if we can agree on 30% we have a deal.

Mrs Opti was happy enough once I told her she now had £660 she can spend on something else. :)

It can cost quite a bit for them to collect a sofa that they will probably have to sell as a 'second'.

The one I nearly bought was beige. I thought it would match my beige carpet and beige curtains. Although the Mrs did say I might disappear on it wearing my beige trousers and beige cardigan.

DFS !  >:(
I bought a load of stuff from them a few years ago. In the shop nice smiley sales people. When it came to delivery they were utter b*****ds. Rude and totally inflexible. There was a short delay on completion date of our house, they absolutely refused to delay delivery date. Delivered to property being sold, I was left to get it all to the new one. I'll never buy from them again.

At exactly the same time I bought stuff from Oak Furniture Land, who were absolutely brilliant  :y

We always buy our furniture from our locally owned family business, no pushy sales nonsense, dates are given correctly re delivery & excellent delivery staff & the quality is superb.
