Councils/ highway repair gangs who don't bother to remove 'road closed' signs, even when the road is actually clear.  >:(

There's no coordination between them but the traffic management is generally done by a third party. The doogooders insist that everything is in place before work starts and is cleared after the work is completed.
Ideally this is day before/after but delays and other job sites can mean a delay in work starting or traffic management being removed.

The days of crews bringing their own cones etc are sadly long gone.

Women don't 'break' things, they just break all on their own. They don't use your car and alter every setting that's it's possible to alter and they don't scratch the doors around the handles with their rings.

That'll learn you to use T3 :D

Just be thankful you didn't need any assistance. If you think Swissport are bad, you've not experienced Wilson James :-X

Surely they can't be as retarded as those at T5?  I've only flown from there once, and, well, never again.  I'd rather go to Luton!

Now that's a bit strong! Only been there once, to drop the OH off and it reminded me of a bus station, probably the smell of body odor and despair.

I've never been out of T5 as the twice I've tried to fly BA they decided to be on strike. Fortunately both times were for work so it didn't impact my life much, but I won't risk it when I fly for a holiday. TBH my preference would always be Birmingham first or Manchester second as I like smaller airports, but SWMBO doesn't like connecting flights so LHR is a staple, sadly.

Mancchester, Edinbugger and Glasgow are on my shit list.

Edinbugger security are a bunch of shouty power happy Frenchists.

Glasgie Security believe they can search bags and remove items 'for testing' without you being present... They actually got reported for that.

And last time I flew out of Mancchester, security there opened my liquids bag, took my toothbrush out by the bristles, shrugged and handed both back to me. If I wasn't so gobsmacked I probably would have punched him. That said, I should have expected nothing less from a council run cesspit.

Heathrow security try it on but I won't take any shit from them.

Gatwick are generally OK, although I tend to use fast track there.

Gatwick a couple of weeks ago were a shower.  Both outbound and inbound, a noticeable deterioration since we last went through just over a year ago.

Additionally, and I know not the airport's fault, the e-gates at Gatwick are shit. They need to rip them out and put working ones in.

One of my pet hates is how poorly designed ( for the customer) airports are.

I remember when you turned up at Malaga and the parking was handy. You crossed the road and went to check in desk, passed through and a short walk to your plane. Now parking is “miles” from  the terminal. Travelators out of service, stupid snake system to funnel you into security( no shortcuts enabled during low intensity) then a long walk through what is laughably called duty free - my favourite Malaga wine is cheaper in the supermarket. Then a long walk to passport control, then a long walk back to your gate.
The only good thing is drop off is free for up to ten minutes. Loads of people circumvent having to pay for parking to collect passenger by double parking on yellows or waiting in the hatchings on the roundabouts…….

Leeds. Car hire used to be next door but now tucked a very long way away by foot or wait for the free bus. Another airport with ridiculous amount of walking and when you arrive they wait and fill two buses rather than fill one and get passport control working with a smoother workload.  Idiots.

My conclusion is that airports are actually run for the convenience of the airport and not for customers.

My conclusion is that airports are actually run for the convenience of the airport and not for customers.

The running joke is that Airports are actually shopping centres with runways.

They've completely ruined Bristol too. Used to allow 30 minuites to check in and could get from first impact with the runway to home in 1h15. Then they moved the long stay from right infront of the terminal to 'round the back', built a multistory where the long stay was, and try to charge close to Ł200 for a weeks stay. As a result my 10 flights a year from there has decreased to zero. Now try to use Bournemouth or Exeter, but they have very few flights so often stuck with LHR or LGW.
