Sarah Palin/Fox News
« on: 08 September 2008, 10:35:47 »

Anyone else ever watch FOX News? It's absolutely hilarious - the right wing agenda they spout in their "Fair and Balanced" reporting actually beggars belief!
It's absolutely hysterical - do these guys do any other comedy shows?

I watched an hour long piece on that mad witch Sarah Palin - jesus - you'd think she was the second coming instead of the sinister christian fundamentalist dictator her record would suggest!!

AND she's a creationist FFS!!!!!! Any other western democracy she'd be a joke - in the US she could be a heartbeat away from leading them!!

rant over...for now

i fear for us all if Obama doesn't get in - you thought Bush was bad....

Not sure that your rants and insults are appropriate in this forum.

As it happens, I believe Obama's endorsement of Al Gore and his global warming hoax could be very damaging. The Democrats have prevented drilling off California, as well as getting polar bears listed as endangered (which they aren't) in order to prevent drilling in Alaska. A US ever-more dependent on foreign energy supplies is not good for anyone.

McCain has, in the past, also spoken out about global warming and, for a while, I thought there was nothing to choose between two poor both presidential candidates. With the adoption of Palin, who has done good work as Governor of Alaska, I'm minded to hope for a McCain victory as being the best chance of a US economic revival.

The fact that she is a God-fearing Christian should not, in my view, be the subject of ridicule. Religion is a personal thing and should remain so.

I don't care which "invisible super-being" anyone chooses to believe in - thats their choice - I'm a big Star Wars fan - I like that story  ;D

But when that belief starts to impinge on other peoples right to free speech - then I get nervous.

Sarah palin is a dangerous throwback to to darker times - she wants to hunts wolfs in helicopters FFS!!
her record on the environment is appalling - allowing drilling seemingly without any regard to dwindling resources or destruction of natural habitat (not to mention some of the most beautiful scenery on earth)

interesting that you doubt the validity of climate change and yet you're quite happy to allow spurious religious beliefs without seeking "evidence"

but I always say - never discuss religion or politics with friends - so I'll shut up  ;)

I do not trust creationists one little bit, I have discussed this with various religious people, they all think that evolution and big bang happened, and that the religious texts need to be read in the context they were written in.

I've just come back from a country where wolves are shot on sight. Especially as a local was killed by one in a nearby village two years ago. What's wrong with using choppers if you're protecting farm animals and humans? Beats walking.

The amount of habitat which would be turned over to oil production would equate to the size of Washington Dulles Airport. Barely a dot when you consider the size of Alaska. As for dwindling resources, who says? The US has enough natural gas, for example, for the next 118 years. Peak oil is a myth, just as global warming is a myth.

I have seen no evidence to support your theory that Ms Palin wishes to deny free speech.

you believe peak oil and global warming are myths - thats fine - if a bit odd  :-? :-?

the free speech thing - like most religious fanatics Palin will not allow anyone with a differing voice to be heard - within weeks of taking office she'd sacked the Chief of Police and the Fire chief for voicing concerns, she also intimidated the head librarian at a public meeting when questioning her on banning certain books (this is a 21st century democracy remember!!) - the librarian was sacked (later re-instated after a massive protest from locals)

she's a religious nut.
she's a war-monger.
she's a member of NRA (loony-right wing gun fetishists)
she wants to shoot wolves.
from helicopters.
if alaska's so big that you wouldn't notice a few Multi-national conglomerate oil exploration, drilling and refining complexes - do you really think a few wolfs would stand out in the wilderness??
