Metaphorically it's just another brick in the wall of the erosion and conversion of the world that we ,of a certain age ,grew up in and enjoyed.
The steady change that we witness all around us is normal and continual , it happened to my Father and his Father before .
Unfortunately with the advent of Social Media , modern technology and a diversity driven left wing dominated educational system  it's change is factorial rather than exponential.
I'm at an age now that although I deeply dislike what I see daily ,I have resigned myself to the fact that I cannot do anything about it . Soon , well not too soon hopefully ..., we'll be gone and the second generation after us will be Kings , and they'll get the world that they choose to have .
Reap what you sow springs to mind .
Steve's interesting post is just indicative of the direction that the UK is travelling it makes no sense to me at all , but tell me what does in this day and age .
It's a very alien world to the one that I enjoyed up to about ten years ago .
That's exactly why I posted it in a matter of fact way. It's just not worth spending the rest of my life fighting a war that cannot be won. In the big, wide world, my opinion counts for nothing, I'm just a daft old pensioner who is underserving of enough money to keep me warm  ;D

The next big thing will be the UK cosying back up to the EU, causing much angst from the same group of people who rail against racial equity. Again, I'm resigned to that fact.

We've seen the best times Steve, unfortunately I can't see my Grandsons enjoying the times I had when things were " sensible & normal" that's the only way I can describe it, so very sad but we're too far down the road to " complete madness" to return. Yes I too am a worthless old pensioner but I'm determined to enjoy the rest of my days on this planet.

Essentially no CPR using chest compressions means DNR.

Certainly for us at work that would be the case as we use a defibrillator and it works by insisting on chest compressions between shocks until a stable rhythm is achieved.

I might be a daft old pensioner, but I'm not ready for that yet.

Of course, in reality, we are soon forgotten after the grim reaper comes for us. 8)

A couple of generations and people have moved on.

Yep no one will have boxes of old photos of Nan, Grandad, and daft old Uncle Reg stashed in the loft to be rediscovered one day, as they'll all be on old phones which will get chucked out and lost.  :-\

It's really quite sad , having dealt with my brother in laws death, & my wife's cousins death in the last 4 years SWMBO being the only relative I must have taken without any exaggeration 60 bags of photos/personal items to the council tip things that the charity shops simply didn't want two people's lives in the skip, and two make it more awkward neither of them left a will so we also had all the legal side to deal with, solicitors & estate agents being pretty useless during the whole episode it took over our lives for a couple of years, neither of us would want to go through it again.
