Can anyone identify this pipe?
« on: 03 June 2025, 13:20:23 »

It's hard plastic, not rubber, looks like it's never had a connector on it. It just hangs down behind the 1-3-5 head.
It's looped over the back of the engine, goes downwards on the nearside, then seems to go along the side of the transmission also on the nearside.

Is it just a vent of some sort? Or should I be trying to find where it fits?

I know it's nothing to do with that valve that's also in the pic.

That solenoid valve to the left... Be mindful of the following.

It's the purge valve from the charcoal canister to the plenum. It uses the same type of connector as the ECU temperature sensor just below it.

These are not interchangeable as the purge valve is 12v but the sensor is 5v and will fry in pretty short order (pun intended).

Yes I just noticed that as your post arrived.
Hoping that each one will reach its allotted socket without stressing the cables.

Looks like the wire colours are the same in both as well.

Hang on. Blue & grey in both, but the shorter one might have a black stripe on both wires.

I can park that for now - getting ready to replace head #2 tomorrow.

I think both connectors and routing can bee seen in fourth picture of the link. https://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=113765.0
The position of the solenoid valve there is somehow different than how it is in my Y26SE, see below.

Thanks for your info.

The valve on mine is in the same position/orientation as yours.
I don’t think I can mix up the two connectors in that area because the one for the coolant bridge won’t reach to the valve.

Sure, understood from your "Clattering-Case" that you car has only 67k (miles) behind, you engine and environment look much more cleaner than mine having done 31000 km (190000 miles) if I calculated it right, really nice!

Thanks mate. Every part I took off was thoroughly cleaned, Photographed and in some cases, painted.

I’m on the road to reassembly now, so may post an update pphoto later.

Only done 31000km? That’s only about 19000 miles. (Not 190000, or did you mean 310000km!!)
