One Billion. :)

Not sure if that is $ or £.

Is that an American billion or a British billion?  ???

As to the currency, well it won't make much difference before long....  :-\   ::)
Us and UK billions are the same

Us as in the 'Royal We'?   ;D

You are of course correct that an American billion is the same as a British billion, but it wasn't always the case.

A British billion was a million million and an American billion was a thousand million. Britain started using the American version in the 1970's I believe.  ???

I'm far too young to remember this of course. :)
I thought it was still a million million here. :-[ Obviously didn't get the memo.  :D

Sorry to hear that all your billions aren't worth as much as you thought Ron.  :(

Have you started claiming your state pension?

And nice of your missus to give you 10% of her personal allowance. ::)

Just started claiming state pension. Wife isnt employed so I make use of 10% of her allowance.
Theres also a reduction for employer provided private health insurance.

Just checking - the tax man can cock-up tax codes, and that one would/will result in you paying about £1750 extra in tax next year if you were not recieving your SP. I'm sure you would have been happy to loan Rachel from accounts the money :-)

Well, she does need it more than I do.  ;D
As things stand, most of that will be saved by the fact Ive stopped paying NIC,s.
Its rumoured though that she is going to increase income tax and also reduce NIC,s by the same amount.
If she does that it will hammer me.
Still, its bloody unreasonable to expect fair or decent treatment from the State after working and contributing for 50 years and counting.  ::)

Every time I hear more bad things about the BBC and their corruption, it brings a little bit more happiness to my life.  ;D

Its getting beyond a joke now.

What used to be a national treasure, has over the years become a national disgrace and embarrassment.
Time to get rid of the archaic license fee and let those who still love it pay its costs from their subscriptions.

Funny isn't it how all these Establishment broadcast new outlets the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 etc can seemingly be as bad, biased and corrupt as they like and no one says jack. Action taken against them by Ofcom?  Don't make me laugh!  ;D

GB News however is a different kettle of fish as they seem to have an endless stream of Ofcom investigations and actions to deal with.  ::)

They've always been liars! I was heartbroken when I found out that Andy Pandy and Luby Loo weren't real.
