Congrats to OOF! I've spent many an evening on here in the past (a whole evening) and had a really good laugh. Only ever met James, but that's just me. I've never felt the need to put faces to the names, internet personas are very rarely anything like the actual person.
Those early days, it seemed most of my evenings were spent on here.  Mrs TB always looking over with "what are you laughing at" ;D

On the topic of the problems Jaime is having with Zen; How many members is the forum actually serving at the moment? 50? 40? 30? I've just been through the first 25 pages of members. I don't recognise 99% of them, and those that I do haven't posted for years. General disrespect has always generated more traffic than the technical boards, and that is what the forum is about these days. A chat shop.

I do hope we can continue, I've made some very good imaginary friends over the years. But the reality is, can we expect Jaime, who is footing the bill for the forum and won't accept any help, to continue paying for what has become quite a niche forum with dwindling core membership?

Over to you.
Thats one for another thread in a day or 2.  Lets celebrate 20 years of OOF on this one :y

Matchless. What happened to him? At the risk of folk having passed away. Hotel 21 too.

He is still about, I see him twice a weeks as we both work on the project train

Congratulations OOF :y

I remember buying my first Omega from Reading, then had to get another, then another. Sadly, only got the one now. Can't remember how I stumbled on OOF, but oh, what a site. My highlight, obviously, was how many people turned up at my Wycombe meets, and supported us, 23 Omegas at the first meet, and almost as many at subsequent meet. And as DG says, the tinkering that went on. Cars were almost rebuilt. Allan, YZ250, the power sounder removal man, did all three of mine, and others. All the members that have helped me over the years, James, Gixer, DG etc, you all have my grateful thanks. And lets not forget TB and his magic box, the Tech 2. How many of us has TB helped over the years, plus his wealth of knowledge. Also the knowledge of many others.
All I can do to sum up is say Happy Birthday....and thankyou

Some great memories through the years, few random pics below.  Loved the meets, Lakes, Newent, Telford, York, Chester area, WIM, made some very good friends I now see regularly, learned one hell of a lot, this place is often the first point of research for anything, not just Omega related.  Saved me a fortune over the years.  Some of the banter we used to have on here back in the day, nights spent howling, quiz teams, Mario Kart

Wow, 20 years. Where did the time go ?
Iirc I joined ( the first time) when OOF was less than a year old. I had bought my first Omega, which turned out to have just about every common Omega fault as well as a knackered AR25.
I had never been a member of an internet forum before and only joined out of desperation to try and get the car sorted.
At the time it seemed a very modern and overly complex car to me.
With the help and advice from members I got the car in fine fettle and even fitted another AR25 on the drive, by myself in very cold conditions.
Those were the days.  ::)
Before long like most others who were here in the early days, I would spend my evenings in Genchat pissing myself laughing at the antics of the usual suspects.
Loo Knee was usually the ringleader.
I am still in contact with him, so will let him know that the 20th celebrations of OOF are underway and hope he makes an appearance for old times sake.
Not sure if he will, as his life is in a very different place these days, but lets hope so.
As for favourite memories. There are so many its hard to pick one or two, but I will have a think and maybe come back to that.

I would also add, I lost my job in 2008 and when I finally found another ,the wages were half what I had been earning before.
Things were pretty desperate and I couldnt afford my basic monthly outgoings.
I started buying broken Omegas and selling the parts on the forum and that allowed me to keep my head above water for a couple of years until my earnings improved.
I will always be grateful to OOF for that.  :-*

I have learned so much about Omegas and even life in general from this place, and had the pleasure of meeting several really nice people because of it.
Many thanks to TB and the team for making it all possible.  :y

Happy Birthday OOF :y

Talk about time flying!! My first meet was at The Boys house.
I spent also a lot of time on here crying with laughter, probably most nights, which may of helped me getting divorced  ;D ;D
The characters on here were second to none.
Mike Dundee, Zok always causing trouble and telling stories to get me in trouble.

Be great to meet up with most of you if anyone fancies it?
