I feel like an idiot

Car wouldnt start this morning turned over ok but no spark. Phoned AA they came out tried it & it started first time. AA said if it happens again lock door with remote leave a few minutes open door with remote & try again & it should reset itself. Could be worth bearing in mind if any other members have the same problem.

Can't really see what locking it would do. The immobiliser on the Omega is separate to the alarm / central locking as it uses its' own transponder. Can you recall if the EML was flashing when you had starting problems?

Stick a paperclip up its diag port, and post back results....

...AA man is not familiar with these cars, and has told you rubbish.

No EML was not flashing. Just stayes lit like hand brake lite.

My advice would be, next time it does not start call the AA man, stick the key up his arse and then re-try.

It wont solve the non-start issue but will stop the AA man telling you to do unrelated things!

In the defense of the AA if I may, when he arrives and the car is running, it is a nice easy quick fix for his figures, they are driven by figures like many other businesses.
Yes he could have spent some time checking the codes, but this fix would have got him a good "fix time"

There are some good, average and bad one's.

Not possible to defend somebody who says to do something which will not have any effect.

He should have said 'it will need the ECU reading to check for stored fault codes'...........
