OOF Start - how long was it in planning?

How long before this was OOF planned?

Was it the demon mod from you know where causing it, or was it planned before it kicked off?

I always assumed the RMcB business started it but just want to know for sure

I just wondered if the idea for an Omega forumwas around before then or if it was just the RMcB business.

My mind works in mysterious ways that is all ;D ;D

Like lots of things, good eventually emerged from what was assorted misunderstandings, dislike, bad manners and downright rudeness on behalf of a number of folks on an area of a previous forum that a great deal of us used to frequent.

No great point in re-raking over VERY cold coals.  Suffice to say, OOF has emerged very much the stronger - and in a much better and friendlier place that we used to be.   ;)

Agreed HC. If you want a really poor forum try the X-Type forum. It is so dreary that there only seems to be one admin chap answering all the posts.
none of the forum members seem to chat with each other.
Hence my x-type is still for sale.............Oh and while I'am at it jaguar main dealers are just so poor..........is it possible that they are worse than Vauxhall dealers?
So no ..not a bad forum this.
just glad that I am not in the top 10 sad list.. :-* :-* :-* :-*

I wasn't raking, just wondered if OOF was planned anyway before this all kicked off and pulled forwards or if it was just a direct result of.

I remember all the hoohaa - not pleasant as all

I had an almighty row on the 'other place'. I decided I would start an 'omega owners' forum, but didn't get as far as actually starting it when Laidback revealed to me that he had registered the site. Myself, Laidback & Jaime were the original members, along with MarksDTM.

Once it was up and running I left due to a number of reasons, not least my health. It has been a better place without me generally and I am happy to concede that. I am (with hindsight) probably not the best person to admin and mod any site. I have been known to have the odd disagreemnet.  ::)

I must take my hat of to those that do now run it very well. As mentioned above, it is a far stronger, better run and freindly place than the other place ever was or could be.

Long live OOF.

Now, who is interested in my new Landrover DISCOVERY forum? (Ducks down quickly awaiting multiple flack!!!!!!) ;D

Thanks Fin that explains it - a direct result of from multiple people, not pre organised.

Anyway look how healthy it is here - worked out well in the end

Oh and IT'S A CHICKEN!

I don't care how or why you guys started it .. I'm just bloody glad you did !!!

Only been a member just over a year .. but the friendship, humour, advice and technical support is absolutely magic.

I found the site by accident whilst trying to research a problem, which you guys helped solve, since when I have re-started doing my own maintenance - saving a fortune and the quality of work is "known"  :) - changed the car for a better one, attended meets and SWTSMBO is now a confirmed miggy spotter !!!

All in all .. I can't say "Thank you" enough ... for the idea and the continued provision of the site ... I just keep wondering how the bills are paid ... :(
