3.0 V6 Estate Auto - 35mpg on the motorway - 525 miles to a tank...

Jeez thats darn good for a 3.0 v6 James. Best I can get when I go to and from Barnstaple is 27.5 travelling at between 70-80. Must be the wide tyres!!

No Bob. James is in a small minority  ;). The very best I've ever seen the trip show was a little over 31mpg from my 3.0 at around similar speeds to you  :y  :y

You need to be seriously light-footed to get that sort of consumption. I've had 36MPG once, at a steady 60, anticipating the road ahead and avoiding the need to brake, in work time, when trying to avoid the need to return to the office. ;D

Any other time, the hammer's down and it's sub-30. ::)

I reset my trip computer every time I fill up, particularly because I use the fuel used as a level indicator for the LPG tank ::) ::) :y :y :y

Anyway... I had an unexpected trip to North Yorkshire yesterday and got an average displayed of 28.9mpg which was actually a smidgen under 24mpg on LPG. That was cruising at an indicated 76mph with the odd burst of heavy acceleration from a few slow points to  :-X mph.

TBH, I think my economy is down a fraction but am putting it down to the Air Filter being 10k down the road and getting close to replacement time.

All in the return trip, including a bit of town driving prior to and during, was 640ish miles and has cost me £74 ish... Can't grumble really :y :y :y

The LPG kit will have completely paid for itself by Christmas for definite now, then it can start actually saving me money :y :y :y

24-25mpg from 3.0 auto MV6 day to day (awful commute). Low 30s on a run, high 30s if I'm a good boy, not that that happens often.

That's what I was getting but I haven't been able to be as good since I fitted the LPG and don't have to worry so much when I press the loud pedal  :D :D :D

1.2 manual

42mpg combined ;D

Which goes to show that for the extra 7mpg our 2.6 Auto MV6 uses it is well worth it, driving around in total comfort with plenty of space for me and 4 passengers plus all our luggage in the boot......!!

Instant consumption 35/40 mpg @ 75/80mph on cruise, about 7mpg @ full squirt :'(, average reads 23.6 which is quite reasonable really. 8-)

Never had 26mpg out of ine and that's driving sensibly on a dual carriageway :(

But there again it never seems to drop down to much lower than 23mpg around town!

Not been over happy about the mpg on the Meega, a manual 3.0 Monza would do mid to high 30's on a run!

The Omega will have more efficient engine, but the extra weight will hurt it.
