Actually you should NOT have failed the test for the postcode reason .. :(

The rule bringing in a load of the number plate rules was suspended only months after it was published ... and AFAIK has not been re-introduced ...

Introduced :

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/newsandevents/pressreleases/2007pressreleases/20-09-07changestotherequirementsforregistrationplatechecksatmottest.htm

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/v796.pdf

Withdrawn :

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/repository/Special%20Notice%2010-07.pdf

NOTE : I'm not saying these number plates are LEGAL . they are NOT, they still breach the law .. it's just you can't fail an MOT with them, Mr Plod can still "do" you for them however ....

HTH

The plates on the Beastie & Kates 2.5 are illegal. The 3d font & honeycomb are fine but the VXV6 To the left of the plate & the omegaowners.com & big black beastie @ the bottom of each given plate are illegal. Those of you who know where i live (on a t junction) will know my cars are in full view of the local law but i've never been bothered at home or elsewhere as the characters are'nt messed with so speed/tax cameras can read them. ::)

Right at the end .....

ReflectivityThe British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the followinginformation: -
l The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)
l The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or componentsupplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)
l The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean acompany whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.)
l A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters areoptional additions.
l There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.

i object to having the EU flag on them as its something we were conned into >:(
thats not mandatory
It is, if travelling in Europe.

According to the EU, the usual suspects England, Scotland, Wales and NI are not acceptable on registration plates, but GB and the EU stars are, hence the source of the article, apparently....

Personally, it would have had to have been a VERY quiet day when out to play to even contemplate thinking about almost doing something resembling nicking someone for having ENG/SCO/CYM/NI on the plate instead of GB and the EU stars.....

Yes, in the last paragraph where it talks about the British Standard.

However, the example pictured plate does not have the required info on it...  ;D
