why an Omega??
« on: 01 November 2008, 20:49:57 »

Why did we all buy an Omega???
My main reason was the fact that because it depreciates faster than a Big Brother winner you get an awful lot of car for your money.Considering the amount of Omega problems on this site and peoples general nashing of teeth over another problem with their car why do we love the Miggy so much?Any answers?

Because I have always loved big engined cars like Rolls Royces, Bentley's, Austin Westminsters, Humbers, etc and eventually was given cars like Carlton's to use, then went on to the Senator..........never looked back!

Big engines, known realiability, plenty of comfort, gadgets to aid your travels like a illuminated vanity mirror over the drivers seat ( :D :y :y) and a lovely body shape to match made me just fall into Omega's via the others!! 8-) 8-) 8-) ;)

I've said it before. It's a driver's car and I enjoy driving it. A lot. I am also on a budget. It's better than my '02 525d to drive. And to listen to  ;D ;D ;D

I had a Scooby and I would have another, but they are F! expensive on 30k miles a year. Despite the image, it's still the best car I have driven.

Now I have the gearbox software and had it WIMmed, it's precise. That's what I like and that's what a Scooby is - only much more so.

Love bigger cars -- love gadgets -- hate garages.

As for all the problems we seem to have on here, my guess would be that every car forum would give potential owners the willys at first glance and that the mig is no worse than any other

No, but the Senny taught me how good big Vauxhalls were and from then I just wanted all updates from that stable, which I knew had created one of my all time favourite the early 1960s Cresta! :-* :-* :-* :-* :y :y  Omega's to me where then and are now a beautiful drive, but I still miss the Senny! ::) ::) :D :D ;)

I was brought up with my dads works van, usually an escort, ocasianaly a marina van and a commer and probably that has made me want my cars to have as much luxury as i can find and no doubt the Omega offers a lot of luxury for its price(second hand).I remember sitting in the back of the escort van  when we drove from Leeds to Skegness on holidays, crammed in with suitcases and cushions on the floor,oh happy days!!!!. ;D ;D ;D
