Because I have always loved big engined cars like Rolls Royces, Bentley's, Austin Westminsters, Humbers, etc and eventually was given cars like Carlton's to use, then went on to the Senator..........never looked back!

Big engines, known realiability, plenty of comfort, gadgets to aid your travels like a illuminated vanity mirror over the drivers seat ( ) and a lovely body shape to match made me just fall into Omega's via the others!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Are you speaking of a Vauxhall Omega Lizzie....or yourself.

i had mine 5 years now no problems so far (touch wood) just the usual things wishbones tyres and a exhaust like everyone says great car ,comfortable, looks good and the load carrying is second to none , i get a weeks fishing gear in it when i go carping in france .Imust like them as its me second one after a carlton estate i had and that was relaible to ,well i did have crown wheel bearing go on it   but other than that no problems. Only wish is why VX dont come out with a direct replacement for it ,the Insignia might be a bit small internaly and dont fancy a BMW or a Volvo so only other option is a merc E class estate

I was brought up with my dads works van,usually an escort,ocasianaly a marina van and a commer and probably that has made me want my cars to have as much luxury as i can find and no doubt the Omega offers a lot of luxury for its price(second hand).I remember sitting in the back of the escort van  when we drove from Leeds to Skegness on holidays,crammed in with suitcases and cushions on the floor,oh happy days!!!!.

My dad had a Fiat 500 which he drove with me my mum and brother back from Hameln in germany to the UK ,OK i waas only 5 at the time   :)but still a good memory  8-)

you actually answered it in your opening post, you really do get a hell of alot of car for your money!!

over 3 years ago i saw a 51 plate which obviously at the time was less than 5 years old, and it was only £2150, and also this was before society was really struggling with money aswell, petrol still being well under 90ppl for a start! So i went and did my research thinking "why so cheap? must be something wrong with it" but then found out that they really were dirt cheap to buy

i went out and bought one within hours of selling my first car (a corsa ) having test drove it the day before, i then spent a few hours that evening driving around town just enjoying it and getting a proper feel of it (first time in an auto aswell) and just loved how comfortable it was!!

class leading prestige marques just dont come close for that little amount of cash!

ME being in out in germany with me dad was only a extension off your dads trouble in 44/45, mine was doing his bit keeping the eastern bloc from invading or so he was told

I have never been abroad, do not have a passport.
even when in the Navy for 3 years, never went further than Alderney on a sailing boat, on the 5th November 1973 sailing out of the Solent in a Force 10, gowd do I remember that

Went to France on the hovercraft in what i thought was a stormy sea,was as sick as a dog,the only one btw,how embarassing throwing up in that little bag,worst feeling ever and it lasted for hours after for some reason.
