140mph on quiet country road - rather stupid - tractors can come out of a field slowly.  I've got no probs with speed but 140mph - use autobahn or race track!

What an idiot honestly.

How can 140 mph down ANY road EVER be classed as done 'safely'

You are obviously not from this country mate but i will remind you that if you were caught doing that speed down ANY road in the uk you would lose your shiny new car and your freedom.

You got away with it that time I wouldnt risk doing anything like that kind of speed again if i were you...........

what if you're doing 140mph as you say, in a car you don't know, and you discover the brakes dont work or the suspensions knackered?

i think you'd be better off with a bicycle - we'd all be better off if you had a bicycle  :y

I admit to having a soft spot for BM's but leave this one, plenty to choose from. ::)

me too.. :-[

735 also is a very nice car..but not for city driving..

if you will go after BMs and if you will mostly drive in city 5 series are the upper limit..  7 series are too big and absolute problem to find a parking place IMHO ..

for the same price or closer look for 4.4 540  manual with sport package..

like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-5-SERIES-540i-Sport_W0QQitemZ370111715433QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370111715433&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

anyway will not be different in consumption..

and keep extra bucks aside for costly repairs :-/

I am sorry mate but at 140mph on a public road, not even a motorway (and that would be bad enough) you are not in control of the car and if anyone or anyone pulled out in front of you without looking there would be a rather MASSIVE accident, which, if you were to survive, would result in you spending a very very long time in prison for death by dangerous driving and an even longer driving ban.

You should rethink  your actions and maybe start to respect the laws of the land a bit more.............?
