Good on you James for what i think is a cracking idea. Your heart's obviously in the right place & well intentioned. It's a shame legal guidelines have a bearing on the forum & prevent fundraising but i guess we must adhere....sometimes the law is A ass!!! :( :y

How about we all donate freely (via James) to James's chosen charity with no strings or inducements .......

James, keep a note of donators ... for your own records ( maybe to send "thank you" notes  ::)  )

Coincidentally one of them wants a cambelt service done .....

Mates rates, of course .........

Yep, I fully agree mate. I also apreciate your input because I really didn't know there was any legislation preventing such things on this scale :y

I do get your drift, 12 months ago I'd have done it too, but unfortunately it's not something I could chance anymore.

purpose of the regs is to safeguard those who donate their hard earned in good faith to those who want the funds for a purpose other than advertised...

Not that I countenance for an instant that this would be likely in the matter in hand....

In reality, I'm not sure this would happen. Worst case, something goes wrong and I fix it. I would think any comeback would have been on me.

Seems a shame to me but rules are rules whether we like it or not, or agree which i don't if a charity goes without. Shame though. ::)
