H21... Bah humbug :P :P :D :D :D

Seriously though... Glad this was sorted before it got OOF into trouble.

James... Great idea and fantastic gesture though. I'm sure that it would be quite popular at a meet :y :y

In reality, I'm not sure this would happen. Worst case, something goes wrong and I fix it. I would think any comeback would have been on me.

Irrelivent now though anyhow...

I know exactly what you mean but... Rules is rules I suppose ::) ::)

Yep, absolutely.

Seems a shame to me but rules are rules whether we like it or not, or agree which i don't if a charity goes without. Shame though. ::)

Guy, you know perhaps know more than most how close this particular charity is to my heart...

Without wanting to set a precedent, if its done by PM and nowt on open forum..........

However the original poster indicates that this would not be the best option....

Nope, unfortunatly I'm not prepared to do it on the quiet. If it's in the slightest bit questionable, I just can't do it  :y

How about we all donate freely (via James) to James's chosen charity with no strings or inducements .......

James, keep a note of donators ... for your own records ( maybe to send "thank you" notes  ::)  )

Coincidentally one of them wants a cambelt service done .....

Mates rates, of course .........

Get my drift !

I do get your drift, 12 months ago I'd have done it too, but unfortunately it's not something I could chance anymore.

Fully understand, James.

James - I am sending you £6.50 back as a donation to your chosen charity. No strings attached. Or cambelt attached either.  :y

H21 - bah humbug. I appreciate that you have the best interests of the forum at heart an you are doing a good job, but this was not likely to ever go pear shaped.  :(

Yup, hear what you say and fully agree....

....but would you be willing to potentially chip in the either the a) fine or b) excess in any lawsuit gone wrong?

(not that it would James, just being Devils Advocate...)  ;)

When living with my parents I used to do door to door collecting for CRC - did quite well as well.

All preventative - it is what I fear most

James, FFS don't send me £6.50 back again otherwise Paypal is the only one to make anything out of tonight's efforts. £0.42 each rather time.

I hereby authorise you to act on my behalf to donate my given £6.50 to a charity of your choice. I do not require a receipt. I merely require that you inform me, by PM, of the receiving charity.

Thanks,
Jim

James, I would check with the charity that you intended to donate to, they will have most of the answers and may suggest a way foward on this?

Can't we all drop a few quid in a pot to collectively pass to the charity?
