Just part ex'd my Omega :-
« on: 01 December 2008, 10:29:37 »

Well I finally succumbed to the credit crunch and the pull on the old purse strings (or so swmbo says anyway!!! >:()

So will be only popping in every now and then. You guys have been excellent for everything. Wouldn't have had the mig this long (6 years yesterday!!) but for the fantastic support that this forum has offered.

Thanks lads and lasses. I bid you "au revoir". :'(

Mercedes ML350 55 reg   :D :y

The miggy was showing serious signs of potential problems, the clutch, the aircon pump needing changing, the front wishbones need changing, a cambelt due in the next 12 months, tyres due to be changed in the next 6 months :-X

Was getting too much to justify spending on the old girl for the actual value of the car - plus she's done 137K now so much worse to come me thinks. So bit the bullet and convinced the missus with the promise of a new bedroom suite and a replacement engagement ring - that she lost whilst doing the dishes a few years back!!!!

I know I said the credit crunch but the missus was sitting next me when I typed th eoriginal message!!  She thinks the ML350 is a 3 litre - but is a 3.7!!!! :D

i have always liked the idea of a Merc, like the CL65 clarkson tested with its huge overtaking power, but as soon as i see the insides it puts me right off...

I think it looks awful!

its the plastics, its all just so grey!

Omega interiors look so much nicer, and for that money you will spend on a Merc i would want something better.

Sorry can't see the argument of credit crunch either, you will loose £1,000's on lost value of the merc over the years.

Buy a Omega for say £800, its not going to loose much more, and its only maintaince costs, when compared to a merc will be tiny!

I think that the old 230SL and 280SL from the sixties are lovely.

They always remind me of very rich people in the south of France having a great time. :-* :-*
