Holly is not well at the moment
She started coughing and vomiting fri evening...
This continued all day Sat.....and this morning i took her to the vets.
She's got kennel cough (she hasnt been in any kennels tho)
Not the nasty type tho, apparently there are two types.
Its highly contagious and is an airborn virus, so vet reckons she must have come in contact with another dog that has it.
She got an injection to control her coughing, which seems to be working as she isnt coughing so much and hasnt been sick since
, and she has to take 3 tablets a day for the next week of antibiotics.....apparently kennel cough can cause other problems to occur....hence the antibiotics.
Vet told me to feed her light meals......so ive just cooked her egg fried rice.....which shes just scoffed (after i let it go cold) with some tabs hidden in it
I can take her for walks, but she has to be kept on a lead....avoid other dogs.....and vet advised short walks.....keep her inside as much as poss for the next 10 days.
He was that concerned how contagious she is......i wasnt allowed allowed back out thro the waiting room, where other dogs were waiting their turn.....i was bundled out the back door
after he emptied my wallet!!
