Isle of Lewis
« on: 15 January 2007, 19:23:35 »

Well I flew to the Isle of Lewis today for a two week stint of work and I thought I would take my laptop to store the pictures I take of the sites while im here and imagine my supprise to find the hotel has wireless internet connection. The flights today were the worst flights ive ever been on, the combination of small propeller planes and high winds are not recommended and to say I almost S*at myself is an under statement and judging by the smell in the cabin I wasn't the only one ;D

my dad has been doing a project in the Isle of Man for the past few years, he takes a prop plane every week, he gets greeted by first name basis now!

As for hotel wireless, loads of places do that now. When ever i am out and about and need a connection, always try for hotels...  :)

The prop planes have a great safety record, and they are the only planes you get parachutes provided under the seats ;D...remember that on the way back :y

Good luck with the work.

I took a flight from Toronto to near Detroit on a small prop plane a couple of years ago & know what you mean  :o

I finally put that door on at w/e, cheers :y
Got a problem with the lock barrel & the central locking closes on it's own occasionally (think the button/mechanism is sticking) but can live with that til I get the trim off again.

He was a real plane enthusiast, and often came in for a chat after doing the windows, and invited me up for a flight. Lunch on me, fuel on him :y
