If they are the same size as standard number plates why not superglue a 'U' channel on each end (IE the strip off a broken fridge glass shelf)?

I think i kinda know what you mean, so it kind of hooks over the original plate?

Yep, exactly that :y

Just realised they will be slightly bigger, They are printed on paper exactly the same size as a plate but after laminating they will be a bit larger. Doubt it would be enough for this not to work though.  :y

Just hit a bit of a snag, I just placed an order for a A4 laminator and some A2 pouches! Only to recieve a phonecall from the company to query why I purchased an A4 laminator and A2 pouches, After I explained what I was going with them he advised me it would not work and that if I cut the pouches down from A2 that they won't seal properly, he said they might seal temporarorly but once cooled and after a day or so the seal would fail. He said to do what I ask properly I would need a roll laminator, bla bla bla!!

So I canceled the order and am now back to the drawing board.  :'(

All idea's are welcome!!

Yeah I was just thinking that he might of got the wrong end of the stick and thought I was cutting it down to the exact size of the plate and not leaving space round it.

I will phone them back tomorrow and see what they say

That's assuming that it's a heat seal laminator.

Sister in Law used to laminate business cards on an A4seet, leaving about 10-15mm between each one on all sides and never had a problem :y :y

TBH, it's not like they're going to be going up and down the road like it... Just sat stationary in (hopefully) brilliant sunshine ::) ::)

Yeah it says its Hot seal laminator with 2 hot rollers. I just didn't want to rush into it and produce something that people are paying for and then it all fall apart.

I have a hot seal laminator, never had an issue with cutting to size (leaving 2 or 3mm around edge).  One thing to be careful of is sharp corners - they will need rounding off.

I was toying with doing mine with bigger forum name and same logo.

Oh, and for those thinking of doing copycat designs (myself included!), if you want to use OOF logo, you need to seek permission from the admins here :y

Well these are the e-mails I have received saying it won't work!

Yes unfortunately the seal would still fail - your only option would be a roll laminator, many thanks

Regards

&

This is not something as a Company we advise for Pouch Laminating as far as we are concerned this will not work on a Pouch Laminator - you may do so at your own risk.

I need to do something, all I can do is try chaps and hope they are wrong!!

EDIT - Well Bits are ordered (again) wish me luck!! hope I havn't wasted my money!!  :'(
