What I do, and not just for tents, but numerous other things .... go to big dealer/specialist places and have a good look around, decide what I want and walk out !!!

Get home then do some t'internet searching for that item ... find the best deal and buy .. :)

Got me telly from Yorkshire, fridge from Bristol, shed from Cumbria  .. :)

Awning from local place as they "price matched" ... went in with the URL of the best deal and they looked it up ... bingo .. sold to me at the same price :)

Works for me .. :)

Nick, I have, and would recommend a Khyam tent (there are many models). The reasons that we, 2 adults 2 kids, have found it very good is that:

The headroom is very good, I am 6ft and can stand up in the domed living area.

They are very quick to errect as they have the main poles built into the fabric. I can get the dome up and pegged out on my own in 10 - 15 mins. Take a look at the Khyam website for a demo.

The living area in generous, alowing Mrs Notacarbuff plenty of room for camping clobber and yes a camping wardrobe.

The only down side is that it is quite heavy so OK for transportation in the car but impossible for back packing.

Hope this helps a bit.

"World of camping " is worth a look online too. Very friendly, helpful and prompt service. Theyre based in cornwall so might be an idea to look locally at things and then compare prices. We recently got a Royal Traveller freestanding awning with innertent to fix onto the emina for £120 which was considerably cheaper than elsewhere and pandp only about £4 for however many items ordered. Worth a look mate :y
