Unless you have set out to injure them if they come onto your property you can't be liable to prosecution for their demise.   Maybe they assumed you were implying you would set up some trap for them ..?    What exactly are they saying you would be liable for?

It seems really bizzare they say he will be liable .... i cant understand it at all.

just got back from CAB and they said that there is a fine line where prosecution stands

as the law states if anybody is injured on my property i am therefore liable for there accidents but in small print it only stands for people i have let onto the proerty to do work
i.e if i let the window man clean my windows and he was to fall off the ladder say due to the drive i am liable for his injureys

CAB says as for smack heads as they put it
if they go and kill there selves as long as i don't touch them in any way and just call police i will not be held responsable for it

i asked about setting up a water sprinkler as spoke about in this thread and there said as long as it don't cause any injureys i will be ok to use water

they told me there knew about one person setting a air riffle trigger onto some string to the gate and as someone opened the gate to get into his back garden they was likely to get shot in the knee cap


so there you go people if they kill themselves on your property don't touch them or anything just call the police and leave them to it

might just put a complaint in against him in writting and post it

I know how you feel but sometimes its better to say nothing where they are involved ..... he's maybe just having a bad day ( which isn't an excuse i know )

I would suggest you do this.  If he is giving out duff info that will cause to others as much stress as you have had to go through then he needs correcting.  In writing, polite and factual oh and recorded too with a request for comeback

I know how you feel, I am not having a great day thanks to a few of the muppets under my command not carrying out tasks I gave them and then I get the snot-o-gram from someone else about it.  I can twait for the end of the week, if this carries on I'll be back in hospital with ulcers

just had letter off the council saying there putting the rent up
its gone from £74.52 a week up to £78.62 a week
plus council tax is going up as well

Problem is the copper is probably quoting the letter of the law as it is taught to them.
Interpretation of that law by courts, judges, etc, would be according to the circumstances, and more flexible I guess...
You have every right to complain, I understand that, but I personally would ask myself is it worth the time and effort...
