1 final thing - is it definately a write off and not bonnet, wing, bumper from a breakers?
Thats a 20 - 25mph crunch as a guess, that will need a lot more than chemical metal and panel beating...

Whatever happens, thats well and truely written off.

Time for a 3.2 Elite, find an advert and INSIST.

BTW quite a few spares on yours - try to break it

Claim for inconveniance ect.

Lad at work managed to trade his N reg 1.6 Megane Coupe to a P reg 2.0 when a dippy cow crashed into it outside his house.

1 final thing - is it definately a write off and not bonnet, wing, bumper from a breakers?

I will see what I can do about getting the car as salvage and breaking it, but I wouldn't have anywhere to store it.

Again it would be good for plenty of spares: tyres, wheels, interior etc.

Indeed a write off, when you look at the total cost of parts and labour.  The guy at the coachworks didn't even try and open the bonnet; he just totted up the bonnet, bumper, wing etc. and knew that it would be a write off.

Yep it was about that speed, can't really see what damage the engine has received.

I will start another topic once I receive the first settlement offer, although the next time I speak to the insurers I may well ask if the car can be repaired if I'm not found at fault, i.e. the third party insurer is accepting liability.

Mark

Regardless of who pays, the insurers will choose the cheapest way out, and that's going to be a write off. No question about that.  :(

If you want to break the car you could approach them after you've agreed a settlement and see what they will sell the remains for.

Anything is repairable! Not worth the effort or cost though... That's serious damage and will need to be put on a jig to confirm everything's straight before it went on the road ::) ::)

Glad you're OK

RIP Miggy  :'( :'( :'(

As mentioned before, regardless of who was at fault, a written off car is a written off car, also regardless of its perceived value to the owner......RIP Mig

I would be amazed if any insurance company agreed to repair that.
Apart from the obvious panel damage,there are probably quite a few damaged components between the bumper and the front of the engine block,not to mention front chassis legs/inner wings etc;
If they let you keep it you could make a few quid by breaking it though.
having recently sold a Mundaneo I would never advise anyone to buy one.Depends on your budget though. If I wanted reliability above character I would buy Japanese. If you enjoy a bit of tinkering under the bonnet, than you could do worse than another Omega, someone on here got a nice one with LPG a few days ago for under a grand. :y
