experian credit check
« on: 01 March 2009, 20:19:03 »

Anyone used it? I'd be interested to know what mine is, the only outstanding finance i have is my official student loan.

I have a credit card, but its paid off in full every month.

Is it actually worth knowing?  :-/

Not really worth it, you'll have a good credit rating so I wouldn't worry  :y

I don't think your level of debt matters - moreso it's based on a history of always making payments for things.

I paid £6 for mine - apparently my score is 999 out of 1000 - which is as good as it gets.

Ive used there 30Day free trial and i didnt find it useful all it shows is all your Credit Accounts including bank accounts and how you conduct your accounts on a traffic light system

useful feature is it will show you details of Credit searches that have carried out on you very useful if you want to keep an eye on ID Theft

other than that its useless it will give you your Official credit score in numbers but what use is that!

Pretty certain, if you follow the link in my sig, you can get a free trial, plus you also get a few quid for trialling it ;)

If its not Experian, its one of the check companies :y

I use it and it shows me my bloody awful credit score instantly.

Good to see what the status of all your debts are if - like me - you owe a bundle.

Defaulted on a credit card last year though so the score is appalling and I couldn't borrow money if the market is good, never mind the godawful state it's in at the moment.

Good job the G/F has a golden credit record...

The experian thing can be set up to text you the minute a credit check is made on you - handy to avoid fraud.

Done mine just to see the results and peace of mind to be honest, there is so much id fraud at the moment its wise just to check it to be certain of your status...

Everyone should regularly check there credit file...worth checking all 3 agencies as different companies use different agencies with someone favouring just the one others using 2 of the 3.

Sign up too a trial via either the Boys link or use quid-co and receive cash back.

I pay £6.99 a month for experian. You not only get your credit score and are able to keep track of their records on you, but they will contact you if anyone tries to open an account in your name.

No credit history can count against you as much as bad I've found.

Natwest and O2 seem to reject this in my experience. Vodafone and HSBC seemed more forgiving - well thats when my credit report was nonexistent then good. Now its appalling!!

To get myself mortgage friendly I got Experian AND Equifax reports then cleared any badness.
