Yes..................It seems a crazy world at times Lizzie............Three years for throwing a pair of shoes (that missed)at the cretinous....bumbling........inept.....intellectually challenged fomer U.S President seems wholly inappropriate to me.
Just imagine the sentence ..................if one of the shoes had actually hit the imbecile. :'( :'( :y

Fair do's - he managed to dodge them both  :( :( :'(
He dodged them as quick as any politician dodges a straight answer, but no they did'nt connect so an assault charge is questionable. Attempted assault?
I think round those parts to throw a shoe at some one is the ultimate disrespective insult & highly frowned upon hence the harsh sentance. Appeal pending though. :-/

So, what will the women who threw the green custart at ??? get,
do you think, as she conected. ::)

I usually dont post on these threads but i feel i have to on this one

My Unkle David was a bike riding instructor and was a capable and compitent driver, he had been working on his bike one day changing the alternator and took it out for a test run  when he was met by a drunk idiot with 3 wheels on his car on the wrong side of the road.
he hit Davie head on  and kept going.

It took 3 days for Davie to die of multiple internal injuries  and we could do nothing but watch.

the effect this had on my family was huge and long lasting  infact  his mother(my gran)  died 4 days after davie did and to this day we say it was of shock.

since that  no member of my family has owned a bike  and we are all very anti drink driving.

I work in the pubs and clubs industry and if i ever see someone getting into a car that shouldnt be becqause there pissed i always phone the coppers NO exceptions ever.

I am of the opinion if i can prevent one person from going through what we all went through it is worth it.

as for the guy who killed Davie  he jumped on a plane to germany  and was never in a Brittish court for his crime therefor we never got any closure or feeling there was any justice served.

this "accident" happened years ago but we are still very raw about it and we will never forgive nor forget.

Sorry for your loss, but you do put the point of the berieved family very well, I have recently been informed of the loss in a car crash of someone close, different circimstances, but never the less a loss and the family are finding it hard to close.

Where is he now?

Germany

He was a german working at a factory that produces mdf board
a new production line was being installed and he was over here working on the line installation
He returned to Germany and as far as i know he has never been on brittish soil since.

Its a scar that has never healed and even thinking about it makes me feel rage and anger like nothing else on this planet hence i dont usualy talk about it.

Something that i have never been able to understand is when i see people on the tv who have lost a loved one at the hands of another person  and they say "i forgive them"  perhaps its me?  I wish that man nothing but harm.

I wont post any more on this thread now  as ive opend up something i want to put back into its box again

That is a f*&k1ng disgrace - we will happily extradite anyone, anywhere but can't prosacute a EU 'citizen' for a crime committed in this country >:( :( :o :-?

I was moved when I read your post Doog and I really do appreciate the hurt you must have felt when writing it.

I have, praise be to God, never lost anyone in such circumstances, so I can only imagine the hot pot of grief, anger, frustration and a desire to seek revenge that must ensue after such an appalling event.

This emphasises in the worst way how justice for so many citizens can be so elusive due to a flawed structure that allows monetary, and sometimes "human rights" considerations to hinder the natural path of retribution.  In this awful case I suspect that the CPS considered it too costly to extradite the man involved from Germany, as I am not aware of any political or legal reasons why that could not have transpired with the right will of the British prosecutors.

God though will eventually enact the divine justice on this man, have no fear, even if the British justice system cannot.
