I need to give up alcohol
« on: 15 March 2009, 20:07:09 »

I'm just too old, and can't take it any more.

Went to a birthday party for an old colleague yesterday in Leicester, got kicked out of that venue at midnight, so went around a couple of the clubs.  Ended up in some place in the centre that looked like it was once a lap dancing club, now doing discos.  Didn't leave there til gone 3am.

Recovery has taken all day.  Even a grease infusion from a breakfast around lunchtime didn't cure the thick head  :-[

Definitley an age thing Jamie. I can't sup half of what I used to be able to drink now .... and as you say, the recovery rate is also a lot longer.
Lack of practice!  :y  :y  :y

Thought this was an old thread someone had revived from a month or so back, although I seem to recall thinking the same thing then, deja vu? :D ;D
PS- only cure for hangover is to drink water to reverse the dehydration caused by the alcohol, its the dehydration which causes the headache,or so my son tells me ::) ;)

It was a very relaxing evening, but being a 5pm to 3am session, I was always going to pay for it today  :-[
