Guess how much trade in Vx offered for my Omega
« on: 16 March 2009, 13:50:20 »

Absolutly nothing, zip, zilch

Didn't want to know it, even though we were considering buying a Insignia elite sport tourer.

The Saab dealer offered £200

It's now in the sale section here and will be on flea bay tonight.

We bought the Saab 95 turbo estate, 1.9 diesel, metalic paint, full leather, xenons etc, pre-registered in Jan 30 miles on the clock (and we did most of that test driving it!) for less than £17K

We will pick it up on the weekend and I will be driving the Galaxy from now on, so the Mig has to go.

I'll still be around here though, best forum ever!  :y

They probably didn't want it on their forecourt for even a few minutes as it would remind potential customers how good Vx cars once were and the Omega in particular!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

That's a shame because when i got to the dealer on saturday, the first place i found to park was right on the front row of the used display  ;D

Vauxhall by us have an old Volkswagen with the exhaust lying on the floor, it has a sign on it saying "We paid £1000 for this as a part exchange".
I suggest you shop around... It is a buyers market at the moment!

The omega is not old enough, and I'm not sure if you can trade against an insignia.

I guess the dealers don't think they'll shift used cars like Omega's in the current climate. Most people are looking to buy fuel efficient shopping trolleys these days  :'(

Bit of a PITA if you are trying to sell your own Omega but good news if you want to buy one.

I think that we would be daft to sell our Omegas at the minute, and things wont improve.

I think we all know our Omegas are worth more to us than they are worth in cash.

I have a lovely 2001 MV6 2.6 auto saloon and paid £1250 for it in September last year (2008).

Even if I wanted to sell it, I would be lucky to get that back and what could I ever replace it with for the same money that would look as nice or be such a complete car for me as a driver and as practical as it is for my family

That's my dilemma at the moment spent a few hundred quid on my TD estate (a few bit's need doing), or a few thousand on replacing with something that will not be half as good as load lugger or towing.

Dont be tempted to part with your omegas for pennies. Even though I dont have one nowadays, mine was one of the best cars I ever owned. I just wish they weren't so bloody maintenance hungry or I'd have another tomorrow.
