exactly like the women driver did in the morning ..suddenly slowed in the middle of 4 lanes to turn left without any light and was nearly thrashed by a truck..

Have to say that I do not agree with kris9128 on this.

Here on the South coast an alarming number of people bumble along at 40mph or less on perfectly good straight A roads, causing considerable frustration in the following long queues resulting in potentially dangerous overtaking in sheer desperation!

If the limit is lowered these people will dive even slower and the accident rate will rise as tempers become even more frayed!

without going into details mate and not wanting to cause an argument and fall out with people. when you loose a few members of your very close family due to somebody who was doing what he thought was a safe speed on a straight road in good weather then you will understand. not having a go and if you wish to sign the petition then that is your choice. as is my choice not to sign it.

i want to keep doing 60mph in my car, but when i,m only allowed to do 40 in my lorry i,m sure 50max will be less annnoyed following a 40 truck than being allowed upto 60
i'd like to vote for the trucks to be upgraded to 50 to match the new 50 due to be allowed for cars then both cars and trucks will be happier on single carraigeway roads.

but stillwant to cruise at higher speeds in my car

We have had this before, ::) though it was a while ago now, it was for fuel shortages then though iirc.  Surprised they are doing this on safety, thought they would have done it under 'green' issues / concerns.
