ive got a epsom flat bed scanner ( can't remember the model number )

it scans photo's , slides, and negative's.

fantastic bit of kit and easy to use  :y
the software cleans up anything it scans so you always get a great picture  :y

just plugs into your pc via a usb cable

cost me about £200 but considering the amount of old photo's and negs around the house and the results then i think it's well worth it  :y

What sort of photos are they. Prints, negatives or slides ?

Ideally for slides and negatives you are better off (for quality) with a dedicated slide scanner.

Prints. ;)  Negatives all lost. :'(

Because of the amount of photos i had to scan I bought an HP5530, it can batch scan 6*4 photos from a feeder on the top of the scanner. Saves a lot of fiddling about trying to get prints to stay in the same place on the glass..

Hi Lizzie (and others who maybe interested ?).

Just had a quick look for info, below links maybe a start (hope the links work anyhow), as I've just copied and pasted them ?.

The computer active magazine site maybe worth a look ?. If find anything else that maybe of some help to you (and others), regards info that I've seen or read, then I'll add to this thread.

I'm sure they'll be others who can help you to, as plenty of helpful people on here I've noticed   :y.

Thanks Weds and M on the last two posts.  Very useful information, as are all the previous comments and advice, which will help me to decide the best route.
