What gets me about cats is that they can, ahem, "do their business", on your property without the owners facing any prosecution.

Now, as a dog owner, if I were to allow my dog to do the same...  >:(

Birds.   [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

My father was an orkneefologhist  oarneefo  mad twitcher. I hate them, I have a family of seagulls with cholera putting their acid sh!t all over my lovely tractor every day.

Living a few 100 metres from the sea its a major hazard. They also steal your ice cream and peck your hat off unless you wave your arms around like a demented windmill.

Now looking at modifying an ultrasonic cat repeller to fit to the car..... burst their b*stard eardrums I will!   [smiley=evil.gif]

Where in Devon?

Seagulls are terrible in St Ives, Falmouth and Saundersfoot from my experience

I feel a song coming on...........

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black light.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise".

From The Beatles White Album  C. 1968

How the lyrics apply to so many of us and our lives! ::) ::) ::) :D :D ; ;) ;))

had to chase a baby black bird around the house tonight when i got home from work, bloody cat brought it through the cat flap anyway took it outside then reallised it could'nt fly so had to catch it again as cat would have got it, found a bucket popped it in and it's dad came and feed it right next to me, it was making a sodding racket almost as loud as the rattles in my mig doors! came up with a plan and it's now in the bucket hanging from the washing line wrapped up in a couple of tea towels and keeps getting visits from parents and the bloody cats prancing around below poor bugger only hope after all this it does'nt rather rain as it probably cant swim yet and cant find my drill to make holes in bucket :-/ :'(

never forget my cousin hand reared one of those when we were kids, he spent hours and hours feeding it with a syringe, it used to follow him all over the house, he came down stairs one morning bare footed as the bird would not stop calling, as he got to the bottom step he stood on something..you can guess the rest, he morned the bird for weeks... ;D ;D ;D should not laugh but i PMSL when he told me.

Ahh Ms Zoom, how right you are :y I must confess to having teared up reading over the lyrics again.  I once heard this sung in a very uncomplicated and unadorned way by a single female voice.  It suited the occasion and the song so, so well.  That's why we must hear, as well as listen to, such work :y :y

I`ve got a Blackbird nesting in the barn; the nest is 'perched' (sorry!) on the top a couple of stored wooden fence-posts.....`safely away from any feral-felines.
I think the brood numbers four.....seemingly they`re comprised mostly of a 'mouth' [smiley=happy.gif]
