I am sat here wondering what the world is coming too with a split lip and i think broken nose and my cheek bone is , well all i can describe as,  feels loose, if the pain in my face dont ease i will be popping into casualty later, i went down to our local garage about 40 mins ago to fill the car up ready for tomorrow.
I paid for the fuel and as i was walking back to the car there were 4 lads pushing (what i now know is a Jamacian guy, 25 years old)
as they were pushing him they were calling him all sorts of racist names and throwing the odd punch at him.
Other people were coming out of the garage and walking past the trouble........sorry but i had to say something, all i said was leave the guy alone, next thing 2 of the white lads ran over, wadeing into me, i gave as good as i got and one of the lads will be in a bit of pain tonight, but as i started to fight back the other 2 lads came over and joined in, all i can say is i got a good kicking from the 4 lads, thus ending up with my injuries, the only thing that stopped the fight was another 2 blokes got involved and the 4 lads ran off with a few bruises of their own.
The Jamacian guy could not apologise enough to me and was full of thanks, all he did was jump the queue by mistake at the pumps and it took 4 dickheads to have a go at him.
I should not have got involved but i could not standby and watch this Jamacian lad suffer abuse and assult of this kind and i would do it again.
Whats happening out there i wonder

ive known people get knifed for this type of thing

if i was you mate i would get up a&e just to be on the safe side

hopefully the garage will have it all on cctv

I can see your point but i would rather let sleeping dogs lie, reporting this could lead to lots of hassle and i dont want to put Mrs Miggy and daughter miggy under any risk, I work long hours and am not always at home. The incident is over now and the Jamacian lad did not want the police involved.

Unfortunately thats what tends to happen when you get involved, whether racially motivated or not, anyway at least you did'nt stand by or walk past, hope your bruises heal up soon

Yep, I understand. It's the old Catch-22. Report it and there may be worse to come; don't report it and let the bast*rds do it again.

I guess, with a wife and children myself, I would do the same as you and keep quiet - especially if the Jamaican chap doesn't want to know. Trouble is, it goes against my principles.  :-/

I can sympathise with your view on involving the Police, but urge you to get along to A&E as soon as possible!!

For the injuries you are describing you must have taken a few severe blows to the head and these MUST be checked out!!!!!

As much as i admire you for sticking up for this guy, at the end of the day it is not worth the hassle you can get for helping out, i had the same situation a few years back and nearly paid dearly and i can pretty much look after myself having kick boxed for 6 years and boxed for 7 in my youth.......

Your lucky to walk away as you hear so many horror storys these days

I`m so sad to read this Miggy; having principles can cost....but better-that, than live like those brutish thugs: inhabiting their self created, hellish-world, devoid of conscience, decency or morals.
