I know 3 piggybacks one of the other networks, T-Mobile or the old BT Cellnet (02).

Neither of which are that good in the first place.

I used to cell? ::) sell mobile phones, the majority of returns were from the three network.

Not the most reliable network, and I wouldn't recommend it.

But that is only my opinion, as Mike has already said, he does not have a problem.

I have a vodafone dongle and I never have had a problem.

What is the problem? I'm on 3 and don't really have any complaints. Admittedly the reception indoors at home is poor, but all the networks are like that! I find the bundles are good value and haven't really had any problems!

They piggyback on O2 if, and only if' there isn't a 3G signal' which most places now have.

Alledgedly the best coverage of any network in UK.  Certainly the only network that works in my house (Shame I'm on Voda!).

You need to chose a network that give best coverage for where you are likely to need it.  Saying 3 is rubbish is probably a bit harsh, just that its unsuitable for you.

I considered 3 a while back, but ended up sticking to the main 2 due to better coverage for my area.

My son bought a "3" dongle for his laptop, zero signal where he lives, he's on an RAF base, we wondered if the radars and vector's were jamming / masking the signal, so, he's driven off base into surrounding villages, still the same, shite :'(
I get a good signal on it here in Massive old Stoke, and in Cheshire too, at our towable homes location :-X

Oh! he's on BT broadband now, max .5 of a meg....  poor sod can't win..

DC ;D

Yep, best Uk coverage by some margin (seem to recall reading they are going to merg networks with another operator to, Orange?)

But, like any radio based setup.....there will be good and bad reception areas.
