Astra Problem
« on: 19 May 2009, 08:07:58 »

1.6, 2002 Astra....

Cuts out occasionally when hot.

Fault code - P0400 Intermittant - EGR related code

Pots 1 and 4 knock retarded.

Its been running on tesco fuel,,,,,Vpower going in today.

Also, coolant temp, apparently -40 oC!    Anyone know where / how easy CTS is on these?

Any other ideas?  do you think the egr code may disappear with decent fuel / removing knock?  or what does that need doing to it?

EGR needs to come off and be cleaned well with oven cleaner (a few times normaly).

Coolant temp is not good but easy to replace (assuming you trust a third party tool to report the correct temp for that engine)

No it doesn't ... SWMBO has a 52 plate 1600 16 valve Astra & it has the software of the later cars without an EGR installed. Hers has had the EGR unplugged for the last 4 years or so.  :y  :y  :y  :y
