By ignoring it. He seems to honestly believe that he is the only person who can "lead the country through this" so he shoves his head in the sand and assumes it'll all go away.

Fact of the matter is, nobody is leading the country through anything Nor have they been for some considerable time. The result has been a country left to fester from an open wound from which there with be no immediate recovery.
They have destroyed the credibility of government and of the official cadre, a tawdry, useless, partisan, totalitarian, manipulative, slimy and utterly unpleasant legislature if ever there was one.
