is it just me or has anyone else notice that too many drivers can't seem to bothered using their indicators at roundabouts ???

very frustrating if you are waiting to pull onto it  >:(
Funny you should say that.  I've noticed a revival in the 'indicate right on approach if you're going straight on' philosophy locally.  Maybe one of the ADIs is teaching it?
PS.  The standard rear indicators on the Omega (maybe just the f/l Elite) are quite difficult to spot in bright ambient light.

I fully understand that it takes a massive amount of effort to lift your hand off the steering wheel and work that huge lever, so why bother infact I wonder why the car makers even go to all the effort and expense to design and fit the bloody things ::)

Had to smile at this. In Spain no one indicates at roundabouts. You have to look at the body language of the driver to see where they might be going.

The police recently stopped an Expat here to "thank them for indicating properly" at a roundabout.

I am reliably informed that to go straight on at a roundabout you are expected to indicate left on entry (driving on the right and going anticlockwise of course) and then indicate right before going straight on. It isn't tht long ago that the mule was the form of transport in Spain.

This is how it used to be, and apparently in Ireland still is(??)

http://www.irishmotoring.ie/cms/publish/car/drivingtest/testerstips/driving_test_hand_signals.php

About 10 minutes of my driving test consisted of this before the day they decided it was not longer fit for modern cars and roads.

Since then a lot of buggers have decided that any signals, even by electronic means, are no longer fit for modern cars and roads ::) ::) ::) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I don't think it's just indicators at roundabouts. Road manners in general aren't that good

As I have stated in another thread previously, I never trust indicators in any situation.....

There are too many people on the road these days who cant be bothered to use them/forget to turn them off/keep them on when driving down a main road for miles on end.......

I just look for a gap half as big as my car/truck and go for it.........

Some one has opened Pandoras Box on this one. Dragging 44t onto a r'bout takes some time. Just today i was waiting to turn left, so first exit, green Jap4x4 to my right, on the inside of r'bout, indicating right. I did'nt need his lane so pulled out & took left exit. So he cancels his indication, swings over to his left behind my trailer & leans on his horn the rather winker.
One day i'm gonna stop & drag DADDY out of his car & give him a leathering in front of MUMMY & the kids so they don't think he's cool anymore...Ok i won't but if it was'nt for the assault charge....... >:(

When I did my LGV and PCV training, not that long ago, the instructors were at pains to

a) insist that the correct procedures were followed as it would be an instant "fail" to be in the wrong lane or not indicate ( and lets not talk about mirrors !!!! 14 "mirror looks" to go around one roundabout !!! now THAT took some getting used to !!)

b) teach you NOT to believe anyone else's "indications or lack therof, as I was told .. "always expect the buggers to lie or change their mind, and they'll expect your 44 tonnes to behave like a mini"

Still .. I think it made me a better driver overall, and at least I now know what the poor sod in his LGV is having to put up with !!

This is really somehting that pisses me off, so many times traffic coming from the right don't indicate and and take the left exit, when if they had indicated you could have went  >:(........on the same subject some idiot almost pranged me on Wednesday, pulled out, then spotted me, thankfully I swerved slightly to avoid him, and yesterday some idiot almost came flying across the roundabout, when I had right of way, thankfully his brakes worked :-X

You sound dangerous and probably shouldn't be on the road with that attitude.

Because they're numpties but have the right of way.

Under all circumstances the overriding rule is 'only go if it's safe to do so'.

I know that is increasingly difficult to achieve on today's over-crowded roads, and that there are situations when moving, that have to be gone through that are not 'safe' by reasonable analysis, but if you are "sitting at a junction" you clearly do not have right-of-way and to not 'wait to find out where they are going" in a heavy vehicle is tantamount to attempted murder.

In my view.
