So - What's Your Favourite Shaver?
« on: 20 July 2009, 23:33:47 »

Wet or Dry

How many heads or blades.

Any body prefer the cut throat method.

Whats the reason behind the question.

Had a beard since 1992 and it's time for a change. :'(

I have a Wahl with all the attathments up to no 12 so doubles up for cutting hair as well.

The thing that started it though was the trimmer.  The beard was overgrown and I needed to go out, so whipped out the trimmer with a No 2 or 3 attached and the firking thing started to snag (Needed oiling) (I was so pissed off) so I just whipped the attached off and trimmed all the beard down to stubble.  That may well be the way it gets done in the future,  (and on the day it didnt half feel cold) So maybe    and it is a maybe, I might just try a few days completely shaven to see how many people I can scare. ;D ;D

Been a "wet" shaver all my life, and have done the river/bottom of a mess tin thing as well ... not enjoyable but needs must.

Much prefer really hot water, shave oil not soap/foam, twin blade razor.

Dont think I've tried wet actually.

Just use a philips twin head battery shaver which does the job ok - having said that, If I leave it more than a day, it struggles.  :-[

At age 16 my parents gave me an electric shaver, at age 18 I lost it on holiday (left it in accomodation) So money was a bit tight after the holiday and have been wet shaving ever since. Use the one they advertise on tv with 4 blades, for the life of me I can't remember what it is called.

At work a few months back we had a discussion about using a cutthroat, as there is a proper barber down the road from here that still offers it. The general consensus was we will give it a go one day.

I dont get on well with wet blade shaving, despite many try's brands etc.

also have very thick hair some shavers struggle with

Had Phillips
Braun
all been ok at best,
but my current one, which Ive been using a few years is a panasonic,

its great, works well, quite fast, use it dry....or wet with lather!
if it broke today, i would replace it with the updated model...

http://www.shavers.co.uk/shopping.php?product_id=815

somehow they are a hidden gem, not many know about them, which is a shame, as it think they piss all over the competition.
