tinker..............just had a woman mugged right outside my house, at fist I thought it was just a couple about to argue, then seen the young kid punch the woman, and pull her handbag and scarf off of her, had to run and get me trainers on, legged it out the door the little tinkers totally gone, there's no way he could have got that far without either going into someone's house close by, the gardens at the fronts are too small to be hiding in, the woman just lives round the corner, police have arrived and ambulance, I expect a visit from the police soon.

Police have just left after taking my statement, they have caught to two kids who live just round the corner, no wonder they got out of sight quick, and one of them was the bloke on a bike that I stopped up the road, to ask if he had seen the kid running up the road. The woman has been taken to Kings hospital to check whether she has a broken nose.

In 2002 I had my purse taken from my handbag on a No, 53 bus outside the Elephant & Castle tube station. I had just boarded, paid the driver, put my purse in my handbag, felt a slight tug on my bag, and the purse was gone.

I was lucky though as no assult took place, with me left shocked, very tearful, but unhurt.  So often now though the IP is not so lucky, being not just robbed but injured in the process, as in the case of the poor women who is the subject of this thread.

IF they are finally caught for this particular crime, what do the courts, if they every get to court, hand down as a punishment? Community service? Conditional discharge? Even acquittal?!
