Some are suggesting that either it is a viral marketing campaign by some clever types at comparethemeerkat.com  (in violation of the Guardian's Comment is Free facility), or

Peter Jones is really a certifiable loony and the Guardian is too pathetic to even wrap your chips in.

Incidentally, Peter Jones is the name one of the Dragons (of Dragons Den fame) and he fronts a rival comparison site...

No surprise to any of you that pointless issues such as this (total waste of print & in a broadsheet?) ruffle my feathers somewhat. A play on words has always been a clever part of our humour. I forget where the over sensitive girlfriend was from but given she was brought up not to complain in her own country she's certainly making up for it now!
  As for the Latvian lodger i could'nt give a brass farthing what he thinks...who cares?

Maybe we should write to him explaing our displeasure about his petty-mindedness and severe humor failure.
Complain that people like him are so sad and inbred and upset with their sh!tty little lives that they feel the need to try and ruin everyone elses that little bit. Just to make them feel their pathetic existance is justified on this rock. Not a waste of blood and organs which they know they are.

I really hate self-obsessed scrotes like him, if I want his opinion I will give it to him.
